Alyssa Espinola is a dedicated blogger, marketing assistant, and aspiring teacher of communication studies.
She began her college career with a Teaching Fellows scholarship to California State University, Fresno, where she pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in history with the intention of teaching at the high school level. From there she decided that she wanted to work in postsecondary education, and she fell in love with communication as a field of study.
At CSU East Bay she was a member of the University Honor’s Program and has excellent time-management, organizational, and leadership skills, which contribute to her success in both individual and group goals.
Alyssa blogs about interpersonal communication and works in marketing at a building materials manufacturing company in Pleasanton, California. Her main goal is to learn as much as she can in this position for collective as well as personal growth.
Alyssa’s educational interests lie primarily in interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, conflict management, and intergenerational communication. She plans on doing research on interpersonal communication behaviors within heterosexual cross-sex friendships.
In her spare time, Alyssa likes to learn about astronomy and cosmology, cook for her partner, and read novels. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from CSU East Bay in September of 2013 and will continue getting hand-on experience in communication before she begins her Master’s Degree program.
