Alyssa Guest
Stage manager, Deputy stage manager, and Assistant stage manager in Brentwood, UK
Throughout my life, I’ve always believed in working for the love of my craft. I never thought twice when applying to university for theatre, and was surprised when friends cited reasons for their degrees as salary rather than actual enjoyment. I believe in order, precision, and control. I love making good paperwork, and proofreading others’ work. It gives me energy when I catch things others don’t. I strive for communication, trust, and connectedness. I work hard to be in synch with actors and directors in the rehearsal room and out. After working for a season in children’s theatre, I have a deep love for those theatres which let the audience peek behind the magic. The curiosity and excitement of children asking questions reminds me of what got me interested in theatre in the first place. I love laughter in the rehearsals, diligence in techs, and connectedness in the performances. And of course, there is nothing better than the feeling of executing a cue perfectly.
