Soprano Alyssa Hensel is pursuing her Bachelor in Music at the Oberlin Conservatory under the tutelage of Daune Mahy. Most recently, Ms. Hensel performed as a guest soloist at the Thanksgiving Hymn Festival of Choirs in Connellsville, PA, sponsored by the Mozart Music Club. The event raises funds to provide scholarships to graduating seniors wishing to pursue a music degree at an accredited university or conservatory.
Her performance experience ranges from recitals, concerts, masses, muiscal theatre, operas, and opera scenes. Most memorable roles include Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica, Sandmann in Hänsel und Gretel, Sprite in Cendrillon, and Miriam in the Christmas operetta, Come to the Well written by Pittsburgh local Jim Lueers.
