Alyssa Pillinger

Hi, my name is Alyssa Pillinger. I am currently a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying Resource Economics with a concentration in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. I am a hard working student involved in a lot of activities outside of class such as the Resource Economics Society and a student ambassador for UMass dining.

At home, I've worked at Bed, Bath, & Beyond as a cashier/customer service associate. This job has taught me a lot of different things such as patience, communication, and responsibility. I've also learned a lot about working with different types of people. I have been exposed to the good and bad, the ups and downs, but it is for these experiences that expand my knowlegde as I continue to apply myself in the future.

It's important to know that I am always willing to learn something new. Like I mentioned up top, I am a capable person and I cherish the skills I gain from different experiences I encounter. This goes for professionally and personally (as long as it's not too crazy).

I also like making an impact. That is, being able to give my opinion for a decision that affects a group of people or more. Being a part of the Dean's Student Advisory Council and being a student ambassador for UMass dining has helped me figure out this interest. Making a decision about something that affects everyone is powerful and scary, but if it's done right it can leave a most compelling and satisfying feeling.

When I'm not doing homework or anything having to do with school really, I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with the people I love. I also really enjoy TV and all my shows!: How I Met Your Mother, Once Upon A Time, Glee, The Following, The Walking Dead, Pretty Little Liars, American Horror Story. Recently added: Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, Sherlock and I watch a lot of TV!

Connect with me on LinkedIn, follow me on Twitter, and I even have a Tumblr I'd like to share with all of you. Check it out if you'd like! I have a variety of experiences and interests, and remember I love to learn more!
