I’m an Energy Engineer at Penn State, interested in clean, reliable, and equitable energy systems. I grew up in Sitapur, India, where I saw energy access and pollution issues firsthand. For me, energy is personal. These experiences shaped how I think about engineering. It’s not just a technical discipline, but a way to improve resilience, access, and quality of life.
My work has focused on practical applications of sustainability, including several sustainable engineering projects at Oxford involving the design of solar energy systems and energy-efficient buildings. At SmartSolar, I built models for rooftop deployment strategies in Southeast Asia, while at Wolfram Research, I built tools for solar-access analysis and PV layout optimization. I also gained strong leadership experience through student government and campus leadership roles at Penn State.
I have research interests in the implementation of renewable energy systems‚ energy systems modeling‚ climate infrastructure‚ and tools to ease the translation of sustainability analysis to action, and decision making․ My long-term vision is to make these approaches technically feasible‚ scalable‚ and impactful․
Outside of engineering, I enjoy music and playing guitar, and every now and then I jump out of planes at 15,000 feet, which is probably where a lot of my creativity and love for challenge come from.
