Amaan Lakhani

Atlanta, GA

I am currently a sophomore majoring in Finance and Information Systems and Operations Management at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Innovation is the key to the future and I intend to enter the world of startups or join a venture capital firm upon graduation.

I am a co-founder at Upside Group Consulting where I have consulted for multiple start-up businesses looking for venture capital funding by assessing overall market opportunity, production costs, growth potential, market capitalization, and financial models. The group of us have also served as advisors to Emory student organizations; helping to streamline budgets by reducing variable costs, thus allowing them to host double their usual number of events decreasing costs by 20%.

I worked as an Enterprise Project Office Intern at The Bank of New York Mellon (June 2012 - August 2012) where my coworker in New Jersey and I researched the effects of using Big Data to increase data storage and retrieval time efficiency; presented a fiscally responsible installation technique, minimizing costs for BNY Mellon subsidiaries by 8%. I also compiled over 200 slides of training material for new project managers from India and the United States into a shared intranet site, simplifying the project management presentation cycle and budgeting process

For the past two school years, I have worked at Emory University's Goizueta Business School acting as an assistant to Dean Lawrence Benveniste, examining MBA budgeting and resources in India to assist the Dean in developing university relations. I have also constructed and maintained the Goizueta Faculty Handbook webpage on SharePoint using HTML.

I was a BranchOut Marketing Associate (February 2012 - May 2012), managing a team of 12 of my peers to help students at Emory University find internships and/or jobs through professional networking through an application on Facebook.

In the past I have been on the TEDxEmory's Executive Board, mentored incoming freshmen through Emory's Office of Multicultural Programs and Services, and tutored at North Druid Hills High School.

I am the Recruitment Chair of the Gamma colony of the Chi Phi fraternity and a brother of the Alpha Chi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.
