My name is Amal Fahem and I am currently a senior at Mount Holyoke College, double majoring in Art Studio and Technology & Media Entrepreneurship. I will be pursuing a career in the art production field, which fuses my love for art, my passion for interactive technologies, and my interest in cross-cultural communication.
Valuing the power of teamwork, I will start as a visual artist or an assistant, which would help me work up to the title of an independent creative Art Director. As a young artist, I will contribute with fresh and innovative ideas to create exciting projects along side experienced Art and Creative Directors, which will not only provide me with a strong portfolio but will also, expand my professional network. These connections will eventually pave the way to my ultimate career goal in becoming a successful independent Art Producer of images, videos and interactive art.
Ten years from now, I see myself managing an art production studio either in New York City or in Paris with a creative team of artists, designers and engineers. I aim to produce an artwork that touches people in an effective salutary human form: I aim to be that artist that came up with the fascinating idea of the red umbrellas that break apart and float on the wall when travelers walk by in an airport or that artist who come up with the captivating TV ad, about fighting violence against women, which went viral worldwide. I want my art to be seen by everyone anytime anywhere in the world and still have an impact despite peoples’ different languages, ethnicities or religions. I envision my still and moving images to go beyond cultural differences and touch the humble side of the viewer, whether a traveller, a costumer or an art lover. Through creating a powerful image or video, I aim to build a cohesive professional body of work, where there are no cultural etiquettes labeling it.
