Hello, I’m Amanda.
Currently working at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Counter Terrorism under the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Digital Analyst.
My previous job was at Astro Radio as a Digital Content Producer for English stations. Part of my current job scope included, sourcing, writing and curating up to 105 posts per week for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I was also in charge of managing the websites for the stations, which include working very closely with the designers, developers and the integration team. Part of this included keeping track of social media analytics and numbers that had to be regularly and closely monitored. Working here has also increased my videography skills, I am able to shoot and edit videos using iMovie and Final Cut Pro (FCP).
Along with that as I was the Digital Content Producer for hitz fm whose target market is between 10 – 25 years old and now MIX fm who’s target audience is between 25 – 35 years old I have had to chance to interact and understand the behavior and thought process of this group of people.
A large part of what I have learned at my current and previous job is strategy. To be consistently good, we are required to always be alert of new trends and be able to execute plans and strategy flawlessly in a short span of time. This is a skill that I believe will be valuable to you.
I also have previous work experience at Marcus Evans as a business conference and training producer for the Middle East region. Here I have developed my skills of market research, interviewing, writing and analytical thinking skills as I dealt with the top management of international organisations on a daily basis. I was also previously working at Gennext department in the education division at Astro Sdn Bhd in various positions. There I worked with the team that created Oh My English! Along with that I was one of the script editors for Geng UPSR and UPSR Tip Pantas. I have also done some ad-hoc English to Malay translation and editing for the Parenting content. Part that job had me working very closely with the digital team to create content and monitor the uses of our social media platforms.
