Amanda Allison

A Kansas native, Amanda Allison moved to Washington, D.C. in August 2013 and is working as an Account Executive at Fleishman Hillard. She specializes in media relations, strategic communications in the B2G, B2B and tech spaces and event planning/execution for partner engagement.

With a background in journalism, Ms. Allison’s work is rooted in media relations, content development, editing, message platform creation and media training. Areas of focus include cybersecurity, commercial energy, automotive (connected vehicles and vehicle security), technology/product development, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) technology.

Prior to joining FleishmanHillard, Ms. Allison lived in Cairo, Egypt for one year, where she taught journalism and English. Ms. Allison also previously worked as a social media consultant to a start-up restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan and served for over three years as an on-site event coordinator for government agency conferences around the U.S. Clients included the General Services Administration, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command and the Department of Homeland Security.

Ms. Allison holds bachelor’s degrees in History and Global & International studies, with a minor in Arabic and North African culture from The University of Kansas. She was named the 2007 National High School Journalist of the Year and the Kansas High School Journalist of the Year by the Journalism Educator’s Association and the National Scholastic Press Association.

Passions include travel, cast iron cookware, Netflix and trying to know about everything going on, everywhere.
