Howdy! My name is Amanda Mire and I am currently a senior Sport Management Major at Texas A&M University.
This past summer I had the privilege of working for the Frisco RoughRiders (double A affiliate of the Texas Rangers) as the Community Development and Foundation Intern.
Through my experience my passion for sports and their impact on their community grew. I had the opportunity to work along side players, mascots, entertainment crew, and other staff to plan and operate events for local youth and non-profit organizations throughout the community and ballpark.
My favorite memory from the summer was the Kid's Night Out Program which allowed over 3,500 non-profit organizations to bring their members out to a ball game. I also loved getting to award scholarships to well deserving high school seniors.
I spent three summers with the Houston Golf Association as Junior Golf Support staff and have a strong love for the game. My time with HGA allowed me to get familiar with tournament operations. I set up courses, registered players, scored data, and served as a rules official.
My current goal is to obtain an internship for Spring 2016 working in either community relations or sponsorships with a sports organization. In the future, I would like to continue in the sports industry in one of these fields.
I am dedicated, passionate, teachable, and hardworking. I believe in order to make an organization reach it's highest potential employees must be innovative, maintain positive attitudes, and be willing to put in the extra hours to ensure success. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills to the sports industry and continue to gain knowledge for the future.
DREAM BIG. WORK HARD.
