I am a wife, mother and grandmother as well as a doctoral student in Healthcare. Although I love numbers (they make sense), I went back to school in Public Health with a leadership specialization to give back and help communities understand that there is a whole generation of creative and diverse children who can and will do outstanding and wonderful things to help make their communities, their country and the world a much better place to live than it has been in a very long time.
They are capable of this but they need people to set good examples for them to follow and they need policies and programs in place to lead them in the right direction. There are quite a few adults (including advocates, teachers, and other professionals) who would be happy to mentor children and help them find the resources to be whatever they want to be.
After seeing what my own grandsons (the oldest is in second grade) have already learned through great teachers, technology and having parents and grandparents who believe in encouraging creativity, I am finding people who want to help children who need more positive adults in their lives.
