Amanda Spence

Amanda Spence is an extremely organized Special Events intern at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit for childhood cancer.

Ms. Spence is currently a Senior at the University of Delaware majoring in Psychology (BA) with a minor in Spanish. In her Junior year, she applied and received an events internship with the Ronald McDonald House of DE. The internship made her realize her love for the events industry. Ever since that internship, she has devoted her time to internships in the event industry and looking for an events job after graduation.

Through two different prestigious Non-Profits, Ms. Spence has interned and assisted and worked on over 20 events. She conducted sponsorship outreach on her own at the Ronald McDonald House for one event and raised over $1,000. The House allowed her to assist with planning and take the lead on another event where over 2,000 guests attended, raising over $200,000 for the non-profit. Working another internship for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, she assisted with the planning and day of operations on events that all raised over $500,000 each. This Winter, she is back with Alex’s again as a Special Events Intern with a focus on one event, Alex’s Million Mile. This recent event and the efforts of Ms. Spence in assisting to build outreach and awareness will hopefully make the event Huge, like other Alex’s events.

While at UD, Ms. Spence became involved with the Senior Class Gift Campaign. She planned and ran an event for the Campaign last year that had over 500 attendees and helped the campaign to it’s final outcome of raising over $15,000. Currently, she is Vice Chair of Events for the Campaign and in the planning process of the Senior Kickoff event. This year's Campaign hopes to raise over $20,000 by graduation in Spring 2016 and events planned by her will be vital to reaching this goal.

Ms. Spence is from West Chester, Pennsylvania where she tries to get home as often as possible to see her two adorable puppies, Sophie and Winnie. When not writing one of her 100 to-do lists, she can be found nannying for a family she adores, at the gym, binging on Netflix, and hanging out with family and friends. To be honest, she usually is attached at the hip with her best friend in the whole world, her identical twin.

Ms. Spence is entering her final semester at the University of Delaware with aspirations of obtaining a job in the events industry.
