Emmanuel Amankwaa Afriyie
Student, Volunteer, and Social Media Manager in Tema
I am Afriyie Emmanuel Amankwaa, born on August 31, 1998, to Afriyie Isaac and Nyarko Georgina in a small village called Wamahinso in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. I started my life at a very humble beginning in this village, where I had my basic education at the Roman Catholic Basic School. I showed remarkable determination and commitment to my education and personal growth from an early age.
Throughout my academic journey, I displayed a passion for learning and a keen interest in geography. I therefore pursued my secondary education in General Arts and Music at Hwidiem Senior High School, where I excelled in my studies and demonstrated leadership qualities among my peers.
Currently, I am an undergraduate student at the prestigious University of Ghana, pursuing a degree in Geography and Political Science. My academic pursuits align with my vision of establishing a career in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) field. I also aspire to make significant contributions to the GIS domain and utilize spatial data for research purposes.
What sets me apart is my dedication to community service and social causes. I actively participate in various volunteer services and philanthropic endeavors. One notable organization I serve is the “Giants of Today Association”, a non-governmental organization that focuses on providing care and support to vulnerable children. My role as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for this organization showcases my commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
With my unwavering determination and focus, I aim to establish a GIS center for research purposes within the next decade. I envision this center as a hub for spatial data analysis and a resource for advancing knowledge in various fields, including environmental studies, urban planning, and disaster management.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I maintain a balanced personal life. I cherish moments spent with family and friends and find joy in exploring the natural world through travel and outdoor activities.
As I continue to make strides in my education and career, it is evident that my commitment to knowledge, community service, and the GIS field will leave a lasting legacy. I serve as an inspiration to others, exemplifying the power of determination and dedication in achieving one’s dreams while making a positive impact on society.
