I believe to make healthy changes in our lives we need to focus on mental wellness. In my own life, it took a very long time for me to face demons and form a sense of self worth. Once I achieved love for myself I was able to make very healthy changes for my life.
I have lost over 50lbs in less than a year with an "all organic diet" and a healthy physical activity routine.
I bake healthy snack alternatives at home to help my children and I get the nutrients we need but still enjoy the finer things. (i.e. chocolate. Fair Trade, of course!)
I also love to cook. I was a culinary student before I chose to study nutrition so my first love is food, for sure! Now I focus on a plant based diet and it is surprisingly very tasty.
I have three daughters, whom I raise alone. I feel as though I have been given the most beautiful family. I might of went through heartache to get me to where I am today but I would not change a day. My struggle brings me to this strong, vibrant, intelligent woman I am and I love that shit.
My weight loss has helped clothes fit better and the reflection in the mirror is lovely but what I really gained and focus on is my inner strength. I told myself I was going to do something and I did it. That strength makes me feel more beautiful then any dress.
I would like to help people not only feel comfortable in their skin but feel comfortable in their minds! We should not regret the past but rejoice that we made it.
