As a teacher I try my best to educate my students not only academically, but socially and emotionally. I inspire my students to become active members of their community and leaders of our school. In our classroom we believe in positive attitudes, teamwork, and that we can accomplish anything that we put our minds to. It has always been important to me to create a classroom environment that is safe and welcoming to my students. My goal is to take the students who enter my room at the beginning of the year and turn them into critical thinkers and lifelong learners.

I currently teach at W.A. Johnson Elementary School in Bensenville, IL. This is my third year teaching 5th grade and each year I learn more and more. I have had the honor of coaching for Girls on the Run and love being an active member of our PBIS team.

This summer I had the opportunity to present at the Carol Ann Thomlinson workshop on differentiation. Here I spoke about integrating technology into assessments to create meaningful, authentic and rigorous formative and summative assessments that would engage and empower students in the classroom.

More recently I was featured in the Illinois Classroom Voices Project. I had the priveldge of working with Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Principal's Association to create a professional development video that can be found on the ISBE website.
