I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am completing my graduate assistantship in the Career Development Center at Guilford College.
Prior to pursing a master's degree, I served as a College Adviser for two years in a rural town of Virginia. While I enjoyed working to close the gap in college access, I wanted to work with first year students as they transitioned to college.
Initially, I became interested in student affairs after participating and interning for a Summer Transition program at my undergraduate institution, The University of Virginia. I believe summer bridge/transition programs have a positive impact on a college student's success and should be available to students at every higher education institution. I believe it is my mission to assist first year students as they transition to college and ensure they aware of resources available to them on campus.
