I’m Amber Owens, a Licensed Practical Nurse and clinical educator who has spent more than a decade helping people learn, heal, and find confidence in their own abilities. My career began at the bedside—supporting medically fragile children and adults in home health, private duty, long‑term care, and skilled nursing. Those years shaped the way I practice and teach today: with patience, clarity, and a deep respect for every person’s dignity and autonomy.

Over time, I discovered that my greatest strength wasn’t just providing care, but teaching others how to provide it well. I transitioned into clinical and lab instruction, where I now guide CNA and MA students through the skills, ethics, and real‑world judgment they need to enter the field safely and compassionately. I’m especially passionate about trauma‑informed education, scenario‑based learning, and helping students who may not see themselves reflected in traditional healthcare spaces.

My work sits at the intersection of clinical practice, ethics, and equitable education. I love taking complex ideas—mandated reporting, distributive justice, patient autonomy—and turning them into clear, accessible tools that students can actually use. Whether I’m demonstrating a skill, coaching a learner through a tough moment, or building curriculum with colleagues, my goal is always the same: to create learning environments where people feel supported, respected, and capable.

At my core, I believe that good teaching changes healthcare. When we prepare new caregivers with empathy, structure, and high standards, we strengthen the entire system—one student, one patient, one interaction at a time.
