The gist: writer/reporter/editor based in New York City.
I'm the senior health editor at Refinery29, where I assign and edit (and sometimes write, too) health and wellness content that is inclusive, body-positive and science-driven.
I like to tell people that I cover "popular health culture," i.e. everything from why superfoods are bullshit to what weird things celebrities are doing to themselves, and everything in between. That everything in between includes: workouts, body image, healthcare trends, medical breakthroughs, investigative features, and riveting personal essays.
By night, I write fiction, watch Netflix, run, and hang out with my sneaky sidekick, Lucille.
Previous to Refinery29, I was an editor at Health.com and the (sadly now defunct) Ladies' Home Journal. My writing has appeared various places, notably: The Daily Dot, Nautil.us, and The Hairpin. It has also been syndicated by Time.com and ABC News.
