Amer Sarsour

Amer Sarsour is a Palestinian-Swedish poet, spokenword artist and rapper living in Sweden. His poetry is mainly in Swedish and it explores identity complexity, social issues, Palestinian resistance among many other matters.

Sarsour began writing at an early age; he was only 12 years old when he had his first attempt in writing lyrics. One year later, writing poetry became his sanctuary during the sleepless nights. His debut on stage was in autumn 2010 after a friend suggested that he should try the Poetry Slam at the Regina Theatre in Uppsala. From there, he went to Uppsala SM team and was one of the finalists in the Poetry Slam Swedish Championship in 2011 and 2012.

Today, at the age of 22, Sarsour is regarded as one of Sweden's current most promising poets, rappers and spokenword artists. He continues writing poetry driven by a limitless passion.
