Ava Messina

Hello! My name is Ava Messina (she/her) and I am a Nutrition and Medical Sciences major in the Honors College. I am from a small town in Connecticut called Middlebury. I have two very nice cats named Romeo and Cosmo (one is grey and the other is black). I also have a brother who is three years older and attended UConn.

I am a Pre-PA student and work as an EMT in my hometown and at the Christiana Fire Department.

This Summer, I worked as a Medical Assistant at an orthopedic office.

My involvement around campus, along with being a FYS peer mentor, includes the PA club which helps members prepare for the process of gaining admission into one of the Physician Assistant programs in the U.S. I am also a member of the sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha on campus and my current position is the Social Chair.

Some of my interests include working out (at the lil bob or following a YouTube pilates video), listening to music, drawing, and spending time with loved ones.

How I Identify: White, cisgender, female, able-bodied, middle class, European heritage.
