Amie Ferris-Rotman

Amie is a journalist based in London. Last year, as a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, she developed Sahar Speaks! A training, mentoring and publishing program for Afghan female reporters.

She began her career in journalism in her native London in 2005 as a business reporter. She later joined Reuters, where she spent five years in the Moscow bureau and more recently, two years in Afghanistan as a senior correspondent.

Her stories include coverage of Putin's gas wars, Solzhenitsyn’s funeral, Russia’s Islamist insurgency, women’s rights in Pakistan and the NATO-led war in Afghanistan.

Amie has also reported for Foreign Policy magazine out of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and was awarded a Kiplinger Fellowship last year.

She has reported from 10 countries, from over 30 datelines.
