Amir Bolandparvaz

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, with an entrepreneurial drive in multidisciplinary and translational research to improve human health. As the first graduate students of Dr. Jamal Lewis at UC Davis, I helped establish the lab, including creating the lab website (www.ucdavislewislab.com). My current research efforts are in developing: 1. A smart microparticle-based vaccine system to combat infectious diseases 2. A reported system for internalization and externalization of PLGA microparticles from Dendritic Cells and 3. An epitope-functionalized iron oxide nanoparticle (NP) system as a biomagnetic-trap for collecting disease propagating MAR autoantibodies.
