The Delaware Valley
My full name is Amy Margaret Maud Philadelphia Hurley. I am named after my two grandmothers, a poet and a Quaker ancestor named Philadelphia Drinker Sharpless...such things happen when your father is a historian and your mother founds a company called Quaker Tours, Inc. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and have watched it grow literally and figuratively during the last thirty years. After working on a CSA for a growing season, I decided to pursue an M.S. in Community and Regional Planning from Temple University. I also became a charter boardmember of the Philadelphia Orchard Project and Vice-President of Quaker Tours, Inc.
I work for West End Neighborhood House in Wilmington, DE as the Supervisor of Bright Spot Ventures, a social enterprise that employs and provides vocational training for youth between the ages of 16-24 aging out of the foster-care system in the state of DE.
