Amruta Mapuskar is a Storyteller whose interests span several traditions and art forms.
A passion for the performing arts and in particular Clowning and physical theatre, along with a deep curiosity about the mind-body connection, has led her to exciting and in depth explorations into dance, Tai Chi, kalaripayattu and performance art. From this deep and varied foundation, she finds the freedom to create work that respects the complexity of expressions in the body, and how to shape expression into performance. She is the first Woman from India, who got awarded by the Late clown 'Julie Goell Eccentric Woman Scholarship' to attend the program in the USA.
Amruta Mapuskar has a Masters in Theatre from Mumbai University, a diploma in Physical Theatre from Duende school Greece and is currently in training as a Dance Movement Therapy facilitator.The course is certified by CID-UNESCO (International Dance Council, France) & Creative Movement Therapy Association of India (Institutional Member of American Dance Therapy Association).
In her journey as a performer she has studied under the eminent late Mr. Philip Zarilli, internationally acclaimed clown Avner Eisenberg, performance artist Jürgen Fritz, John Brittonand many more who comes with the Grotowski & LeCoq schools of thoughts
