While an undergraduate student at Butler University, Amsalu Bizuneh garnered multiple academic awards including departmental honors in cell biology and an outstanding student designation in organic chemistry. He obtained his bachelor of science in chemistry with cum laude distinction and subsequently attended the Emory University School of Medicine as an American Federation for Aging Research Scholar. Amsalu Bizuneh earned his doctor of medicine in 2003 before completing a residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois Medical Center.
After serving as a practicing internist in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Dr. Amsalu Bizuneh joined the team at the Presbyterian Medical Center of Novant Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. He currently leads inpatient care services as the Center’s head clinical hospitalist.
In addition to working with patients directly, Dr. Bizuneh has accomplished a great deal in the field of medical research. The results of his studies have appeared in the peer-reviewed journals Anticancer Research and Tetrahedron Letters.
