Amy Pischke

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

I have formal photographic training from Carnegie Mellon University, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Minor in Photography (CMU BFA was ranked in the Top 10 at the time by US News & World Report). I also studied at the Elam School of Art at the University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand. After graduating, I worked as a photographer for Holland America Line, where I was selected to get further studio portrait training in Dexter, Missouri to be certified as a Black Label Fine Art Photographer. After traveling the world, I came back home to my favorite city-Pittsburgh! I then worked with In-Vision Studio, a wedding photography studio in the Burgh, before starting my own business.

I have a lot of experience making people comfortable when I’m photographing them, which makes them feel like they can be themselves, which in turn allows me to get their true personalities and characters. Smirks, rolling eyes, laughter, the little looks couples give each other… these are the kinds of things I look for and what I love to capture.
I think really “getting someone” is the best part of photography!
