Amy Diaz

Miami, FL

I am a well-rounded student seeking a position related to clinical psychology that will enable me to use my strong leadership skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, educational background, and ability to work well with others.

Currently, I am participating in the Summer Research Opportunities Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the mentorship of Dr. Wendy Heller and her graduate student Michael Niznikiewicz. My current research pertains to the effects of mindfulness on executive functioning and levels of psychopathology (anxiety and depression). My previous research includes working at Florida International University in the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Anthony Steven Dick analyzing the development of eye morphology relevant to gaze cuing in the human infant and working in a couple of ongoing studies in the Language Development lab of Dr. Shannon Pruden.
