Amy Argyle

Born outside of Pittsburgh and raised in Dallas and now live in Los Angeles. All I need to do now is live somewhere in the middle of the US and I'll have the country covered!

My birth parents were addicts, unable to raise me, so my paternal uncle and aunt took on the daunting responsibility of raising a haunted child. THANK YOU TO THEM!! My dark yet colorful childhood shaped a strong, loving, open minded, and multi-layered woman. "From adversity rose strength and beauty" is the phrase I came up with for myself recently.

I'm a bubble of energy one minute and silent and secluded like a hermit the next. I love the energy of being around people but cherish my quiet times alone with just my thoughts.

I moved to LA in 2005 to further pursue my acting career and I'm determined that this city will not chew me up and spit me out. This craft makes me laugh, cry, sweat, swear, rejoice, and ponder. It pushes me beyond what I think is possible. Acting both envelopes me and scares the hell out of me. I want to share with the world all the emotions I feel while performing. I yearn to include them in on the little slice of this amazing thing we call life.

People always talk about having a back up plan and I think Dylan McDermott said it best in an article I cut out a while ago "If I had said I better have a back up plan just in case it doesn't work out, guess what? I'd still be busing tables. Never have a backup. It's a very dangerous thing". I'm venturing into creating my own material...this is not a sit on your butt and wait for your agent to call you town. I have a voice and it will be heard :)

Along the way, however from working at a teen drug rehab, I have discovered I have a love for helping troubled kids and hope to continue reaching outside myself to make a difference in other's lives.

Other tid bits:

I am a book worm, love trying new foods, am contantly belting out my favorite song of the moment, am inspired by all aspects of art and performance, am embracing my spirituality, thrive on learning more about this world and its people, adore animals (have a hard time passing up strays), love spending the afternoon in a thrift store, and hope to travel the world someday soon.

Welcome to a slice of me. I hope to bring joy, laughter, thought, enlightenment, a bit of zaniness, and a whole lot of love to the world around me!

"laugh loud, dream big, love often"

XO, Amy
