I taught in Chicago Public Schools for almost fifteen years. Most of those years were spent teaching in a self-contained fifth grade classroom. For a few years, I taught middle school social studies and fifth grade ELA.

Since having kids, I've been a stay-at-home parent. I volunteer A LOT in their schools, mostly in the library. The time I've spent there made me realize I miss being in a school, particularly working with students. I have three classes remaining to finish the LIS program to become endorsed as a school librarian. Upon completion, my plan is to return to an elementary school as the librarian.
