Amy Berman

Bonjour! ¡Hola! Hello! My name is Mme. Amy Berman. I am a certified French teacher in Connecticut where I taught French (and some Spanish) at East Hartford High School for four and a half years. I received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in French and International Business from Central Connecticut State University in 2003, and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education in 2006. I can speak English, French, Spanish, and some Italian. I enjoy traveling as often as possible to practice my current skills and learn new language skills, and to acquire knowledge of other cultures. Since 1999, I have traveled to France, Italy, China (as a chaperone to high school students), Mexico, Canada, and many Caribbean Islands. Most recently, in February 2011, I brought a group of my students on a week-long tour of France which changed their lives and opened their eyes to a new culture and way of life. While I have enjoyed being a language teacher to many intelligent students in the past 5+ years, I am now teaching on an individual basis (From September 2011 to December 2011 to start) to accommodate my growing family (my husband and I are expecting our first child in January 2012). I am currently seeking students to tutor in my area and all around the world who may be interested in my services. I can offer tutoring in English and French for time being in-person, or online via Oovoo or Skype™.
