Amy Merrill is an artist and activist working at the intersection of creative communications, technology and social change.

In 2015 she cofounded Plan C to normalize direct access to safe abortion pills in the US. In 2023 she was named one of FastCompany’s Most Creative People in Business and a Rock+Health Systems Disruptor. Amy runs impact-driven creative studio Eyes Openand holds 20+ years navigating complex social issues, from human trafficking and gender equity to artist’s rights and free speech.

Amy writes and performs music in post-apocalyptic space folk band Formerly Alien and under the artist name Amy Batara (@amy.batara).
