Amy King leads Nested Strategies, a creative consulting firm focusing on holistic communications, marketing and sustainability strategies to help organizations thrive in a complex environment. Most recently, Amy worked for U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), one of the most progressive sustainability change agents, where she launched the USGBC Leadership Institute and spearheaded the consulting support for a network of 80 USGBC non-profit affiliates. She has over 15 years of marketing, media, organizational development and sustainability experience in the private and non-profit sectors. Her career began as an art buyer and commercial producer at two major advertising firms in New York - Grey Advertising and McCann-Erickson. In Los Angeles, she enjoyed time in the music and film industries as a producer, production manager of high-end music videos and independent film festivals, where her clients included HBO and VH1. In DC, she helped grow and lead the American Film Institute and Discovery Channel’s pre-eminent documentary film festival and conference, Silverdocs. When she isn’t traveling, home base is Dallas, TX and she enjoys coworking at Common Desk in Deep Ellum.
