My passion for film and television started at a very young age. My mother asked one day while I was watching TV “…what do you want to do with your life?” She said that I could not spend all my time glued to the television set. Then it dawned on me … if I chose a career in the entertainment industry I could watch TV all the time!! After that I became intrigued at the process capturing images for both big and small screens alike. By the age of 15, I was able to secure an internship with Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters (AIB), Inc. There I began my education of producing for content for television, script writing, directing and editing. Along with the other interns I was given the opportunity to produce content for one of the station’s signature programs “Sound of Youth”. Upon graduating high school I decided to further my studies at Hofstra University where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies and Production. There I began to take a special interest in the art of documentary filmmaking. I discovered that documentaries are multifaceted not only in style but range. I also realized I had a deep interest in ethnographic films, a style of documentary storytelling focusing on anthropology in film, pertaining to the ebb and flow of human culture. I would definitely say I am the type of girl who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Ambitious, dedicated and hardworking, I have over ten years’ experience in the entertainment industry. My task oriented approach and dedication to quality have allowed me the opportunity to work on a vast array of projects including film, broadcast and commercial TV, live performances and music videos. These experiences have taught me many life lessons and allowed me to build lasting relationships with many industry professionals. There is no limit to the stories you can tell through the lens of a camera. AJM Productions was created out of my passion for the creative process. There is something very rewarding in taking a story from script to screen. Being at the helm allows me to take greater creative control of my projects and allows me to bring them in on time and on budget. Now that I am a new mother I look forward mentoring and ushering a new generation of story tellers and creative professionals.
