Amy Cameron

Vancouver, BC

Pivotal childhood experiences instilled in me a great passion for the outdoors, and a deep sense of place and connection to the west coast. I feel most at home on the water, or at least with my toes in it.

I spent years traveling in Africa, focusing on community development, travel photography, and writing, before coming home to pursue my education. I have since been studying at Capilano University and have been working in adventure tourism as a sea kayak guide and snowshoe guide.

I am currently completing my diploma in Outdoor Recreation Management, and intend to complete my degree at Thompson Rivers University focusing on Outdoor Experiential Education. I am most interested in looking at how time spent in nature encourages healthy bodies and healthy minds and how to facilitate the creation of nature connections in others.

Outside of work and school, I pursue a wide range of independent study in hollistic nutrition, food culture, business, and personal development. I also love to cook and entertain, shoot portrait photography, rock climb, kayak, and go on camping trips of all kinds.

I'm currently building a little space for myself here // amypcameron.com
