Amy Susanne Powers is a Short-Term Rental Design Strategist, author, and educator based just outside Atlanta, Georgia—best known for turning “it’s just a rental” into guest-obsessed, profit-driven experiences. Since 2007, she’s staged and designed hundreds of properties, and in 2019 she became an early pioneer in STR and MTR design, helping investors, hosts, and designers create spaces that book fast, photograph beautifully, and actually make money.

As the founder of Vacation Rental In A Box®, Amy designs and develops full-service concepts for vacation and mid-term rentals nationwide, from eco-friendly getaways to story-driven, highly Instagrammable stays. She also trains designers and stagers around the world, teaching the business and strategy behind STR design—not just “pretty pictures.” Her work and curriculum have earned her multiple industry awards, including recognition as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate Staging and a Trailblazer Award in STR design curriculum.

Amy is the author of Eco-Friendly Design: Sustainable Practices for Environmentally Conscious Short-Term Rentals and is currently expanding her Stylish Stays series with a focus on Universal Design and accessibility. She also creates CE courses and education for real estate agents, investors, and STR professionals who want design that balances durability, risk management, and ROI.
