BIO

Amy Wainscott is an active oboist/English horn performer and teacher in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is on staff at Highland Park United Methodist Church in the Music & Arts Department.

A native of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Amy received her Masters in Oboe Performance at Southern Methodist University and her Bachelor in Oboe Performance at Arkansas State University. Her principal teachers have been Erin Hanngian (Dallas Symphony) and Dan Ross (Tupelo Symphony - Ross Gouge Inventor).

She has been teaching oboe, English horn, & double reed ensembles in the DFW area since 2006. Amy is the instructor of oboe within the TowerArts Conservatory & maintains a private oboe and English horn studio. She performs with the Dallas Pops, Allen Philharmonic, and various ensembles in the area.

At HPUMC, Amy works in the Music & Arts Department as the assistant & librarian to the Music & Arts Ministry and has been on staff since fall 2012.
