Amy Watson Smith

Amy Watson Smith has experience working with a variety of non-profit organizations for more than twenty years. She served as an associate curator at the DAR Museum in Washington, DC and as acting director of the New England Museum Association in Boston, MA. After moving to Charleston in 1995, she served as the director of the Lowcountry Arts and Cultural Council, curator of education at the Gibbes Museum of Art, director of development with Communities in Schools and director of ministries to children and families at St. Michael’s Church. Amy has volunteered with several different organizations serving as a tutor, grants reviewer, teacher, lecturer and writer. She received bachelor’s degrees in English and Art History from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in Museum Studies/American Studies from George Washington University. Amy lives in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, Michael, and her teenage daughter, Cameron.
