Ana Isabel Martins is a researcher in the Medical Sciences Department of the University of Aveiro and in the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro.

She has a PhD in Health Sciences and Technology (2016), MSc in Gerontology, specialization in Management of Social Equipments (2011) and BSc in Gerontology (2009) at the University of Aveiro. Her research work is focused on technology assessment for the elderly, including Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) products and services. Her recent work includes the development of a methodology for evaluation of AAL products and services usability using the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health in a Living Lab approach. She also developed work in the field of assistive technologies use and evaluation of human functioning and environmental factors using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health.
