Anais Amin is a multifaceted Los Angeles professional specializing in journalism, marketing, and community engagement. She completed her Master's in Journalism at Columbia University and has cultivated a diverse career in radio production, brand management, and social advocacy. Anais grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. At UCLA, she was actively involved in student government, serving as one of 14 council members. This role allowed her to advocate for social justice, education access, and mental health services for veterans. She led a team of 40 volunteers to promote these causes and moderated a political debate among U.S. House of Representatives candidates.
After her undergraduate studies, Anais pursued her Master of Science in Journalism at Columbia University, graduating in 2020. She focused on multimedia journalism, including audio, text, and video formats. Her master’s thesis included a detailed 5,000-word story on a Syrian refugee family's journey to the U.S., a published article about her family's escape from genocide, and a video project on medication-assisted recovery.
During her tenure at Columbia, she also covered the civil and criminal courts in the Bronx, where she produced investigative reports on subjects like sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the excessive use of force by private security personnel.
Anais’s professional career in radio began with an internship at Marketplace, an award-winning public radio program produced by American Public Media, where she worked from June to December 2021. She then transitioned to a full-time role as a production assistant from January to December 2022. In these roles, she researched, pitched, and edited content, wrote scripts for hosts, and produced digital content.
She worked at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, producing social, political, and scientific segments.
Beyond radio, Anais has also made her mark in marketing and brand management. She currently oversees multi-million-dollar accounts as a Marketing and Brand Manager for a fashion manufacturer. She previously served as an executive assistant at a dental lab and as a PR and marketing intern at The Borgen Project, where she focused on poverty reduction initiatives.
