Anand Beharry

An international business professional, Anand Beharry holds a bachelor of science in marketing. In his current position as director of Edward B. Beharry and Company Limited, he oversees strategic direction for a group of affiliated companies. Anand Beharry contributed to the acquisition of the Guyanan Bank for Trade and Industry, establishing the holding company as a financial services provider. The corporate family also includes BAL Toyota, Guyana’s largest supplier of Toyota vehicles and parts, and a restaurant holding company that plans to open six KFC locations across the country.

Previously, Mr. Beharry directed companies including the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries and the North American Life & General Insurance Company. Actively involved with various community initiatives, he has led the company in contributing to the national rugby team and in donating Guyanese $1.5 million to the Youth Basketball Guyana team. In 2016, the company launched an educational initiative that encourages young people to focus on school and sports and to reduce incidents of drug use, crime, and suicide.
