Anastasia Antonakaki

I am Anastasia Antonakaki, Writer/Theatre Director currently based in Athens, GR.

I blend Soma and Logos. I believe in empty space and in the actor as the true center. I love working with light and darkness. Operating from Theatre, I also do Films.

I hold a PhD in Movement, Image & ReEnchantment in the fields of Performing Arts & Sociology (AUTh, GR).

I consistently contribute to the research of acting, body movement and the interaction between Theatre and Cinema in the fields of text, space, acting and technique.​

I am involved in multiple aspects of my projects, such as production, movement coaching, choreography, lighting and sound design.

My projects address significant societal issues, with a particular focus on concepts of time, the interaction between the individual and the collective, financial struggles, migration and gender dynamics.

I have an extensive background in dance (freestyle & choreography) in many genres.

I am engaged in academia since 2011. Graduated from Law School (BSc) and went on with MScs on Sociology, Dance, Theatre and Film.
