Chicago, Illinois, United States
Hi y’all! I am lucky enough to have been born and raised in wonderful Austin, Texas. After high school, it was important to me to get out of my comfort zone, so I headed to Northwestern University. That was a tough transition for me, knowing no one and adjusting to a completely different culture and climate. However, I found my place by getting involved in student groups with a focus on giving back and having fun while doing it. I served as Philanthropy Chair of my sorority, led a team dancing for 30 straight hours for the Be Positive Foundation, and created a haunted house visited by over a thousand people to raise $5,000 in three nights for Evanston Lift.
After graduating, I was thrilled to join the Lean team at Discover, where I drive process efficiency and customer experience projects. Outside of work, I love cheering on my alma mater at football games, playing Catchphrase, and perhaps most rewardingly, mentoring an underprivileged girl who wants to be an engineer. Also, this August, I completed my first triathlon, something I never thought I could do! All these experiences in Chicago have pushed me to grow, but now I am ready to be back in my (warm and sunny) hometown!
I’ve dreamed of being a Longhorn since I was young. I wore a UT shirt to my first Bar Mitzvah party in middle school and thought I was the coolest. Now, I can’t wait to proudly sport a Longhorn shirt as a McCombs student!
