Andile Siyanda Dlamini
Student and Student Teacher in Johannesburg, Brixton
Andile Siyanda Dlamini is a down the earth, kind, and respectful being who is success driven. I always prefer to use both my names because my maiden name is largely used but my first still remains significant. Initially I'm from Kwazulu Natal, in a small town called Empangeni, which is 1h30 minutes outside Durban, with obviously less opportunities as compared to Johannesburg. Chasing success brought me to Johannesburg, the city is very busy but I have been able to settle and study the environment. I'm not shy to go outside my comfort zone in an attempt to chase opportunities, I do not fear change.
I am currently a student at the university of Johannesburg doing my 3rd year in Bachelors of Education (Senior phase and F.E.T), Majoring in English and Physical Education. My career path to me means that I can empower, educate and guide the youth into being responsible citizens and also help them towards their goals. This is an exciting journey for me because, helping people is something that is very close to my heart and I would really like to make an impact in people's lives, hearing someone saying “I'm where I am today because I listened to Mr. Dlamini”, would make me proud and obviously push me to keep on giving.
Besides being a student I'm also a part time student teacher which helps me into getting myself used to the teaching field and also giving me experience. I'm currently living in Johannesburg, Brixton. My interests range from fitness to music. I am also interested in technology, reading, and travel. Outside studying I play football and I also follow football a lot. This also benefits my understanding for Physical education, as it includes sports and fitness, which is my daily activity, I exercise daily and my knowledge for sports get's broader with time.
I'm open to learning new things, open to knowing a different way of life then the one I currently know. I'm also not shy to asking questions, I like to consider myself a team player, I believe in balancing power dynamics. People are only productive and helpful when they are comfortable around you, hence I always try to make people feel comfortable for the benefit of both.
