Andiswa Mntungwa
Student, Hair Stylist, and Dancer in Johannesburg
My name is Andiswa Mntungwa, I am a third year student who is fervently pursuing a career in teaching, with a specialization in isiZulu and history at the University of Johannesburg. Growing up amidst the cultural richness of KwaZulu-Natal, I developed an early fascination with isiZulu, a language that encapsulates the essence of our heritage and identity. History, with its intricate narratives of resilience, heroism, and transformation, offers profound insights into our collective past and its lessons for the future. In my leisure time, I immerse myself in historical literature, volunteer at local schools to ignite a passion for isiZulu and history in young minds, and passionately engage in traditional Zulu dance and song. These pursuits not only deepen my connection to my cultural roots but also bolster my aspiration to create an intellectually stimulating classroom environment. Here, students can appreciate their heritage, learn from historical precedents, and be inspired to contribute meaningfully to society.
