András Török (1954) Hungarian policymaker, author, non-profit businessman, cultural philanthropy specialist. A former dissident, teacher, translator, editor of underground and over-ground publications, he served as Deputy Minister for Culture and as President of the National Cultural Fund (1994-98.) He also worked as the founding director of the Hungarian House of Photography. He was on the Board of the European Cultural Foundation 2004-2012. He is the author of five non-fiction books (Budapest: A Critical Guide now in its 9th edition is one of them.) Since 2003 he has been the founding director of Summa Artium, a charity that is a bridge between the arts and business worlds in Hungary. He is one of the editors an columnists of the monthly “Budapest”. He has used his pseudonym Simplicissimus since 1993. He is married with three daughters: Flora (1980), Lili (1987) and Emma (1999).
