A professional athlete with a focus on futsal and soccer, Andranik Karapetyan has played futsal for Armenian teams at the national and club level. While it involves more technical skill, futsal is essentially a scaled-down, indoor variant of soccer with a small-sided format that limits on-field players to five per team. The game has a worldwide following, as well as official recognition from the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

In 2014, Mr. Karapetyan began his futsal career with the Armenia National Futsal Team, which represents the country in international competitions. He belonged to the team for seven seasons. During this period, he and the team earned multiple medals, trophies, and awards, including six Armenia National Champion Futsal honors between 2015 and 2020. Notably, Mr. Karapetyan is known for being the 2018 MVP star of Homenetmen club team in Bourj Hammoud, Lebanon.

In 2019, he joined the Futsal Club Leo. The Yerevan-based team participates in the Armenian Futsal Premier League. During Mr. Karapetyan’s first two years with Club Leo, it earned the opportunity to participate in a European club championship and reached the qualifiers both times.

As a sport that requires precision, quick thinking, and mutual support among teammates, futsal is rewarding for players who commit to adopting these principles and bettering themselves on a personal level.

Outside of futsal and soccer, he enjoys playing basketball and reading books in his spare time. He has an associate of science in finance.
