Reporter in Washington, DC

I have more than a decade of experience as a reporter working in the Washington, D.C. region.

I currently write about issues in state and local government for Route Fifty, a division of Atlantic Media, and focus on tech, legal matters, and federal policy. Before that, I covered the Justice Department for The Washington Times. I have extensive experience reporting on Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. politics, public safety, and legal matters.

In 2018, I took a break from reporting and spent a year working in Congress as a Project on Government Oversight fellow. As part of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, I focused primarily on issues related to the opioid crisis including an investigation of drug distributors.
