Andrea Huang has made a habit of being ahead of her time. Not only was she part of the first graduating class at University of Houston’s Master in Art of Arts Leadership Program, she was also the youngest graduate having earned her Bachelor of Art in Theatre Arts from Texas A&M University a semester early. Andrea Huang is part of the next generation of leaders in nonprofit. Her background represents an enthusiasm for learning, a passion for performance, a dedication to the business of arts sustainability and international exploration. Having been called “the poster child of arts leadership”, Andrea has had the opportunity to assist Queensbury Theatre (formerly known as Country Playhouse) in transitioning leaders and re-branding through online and social media marketing; and curated Taste of Taiwan, a food program that oversold 110% sponsored by the Taiwanese Embassy produced at Asia Society Texas Center in November 2014. She currently works at Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology (CTUST) teaching English, Western Drama, and Business.

A first-generation Taiwanese-American, Andrea Huang is the daughter of Motorola’s former Senior Director of Engineering and followed her family to reside in Beijing, China from 2002 to 2008. There, she had worldly experiences: workshops with local Peking Opera troupes; traveling to Thailand to learn Ram Thai; living with Shaolin monks to learn Wushu; and producing her first play in which she wrote, directed, designed, and acted in. Because of her international experience and bilingual ability, Andrea Huang naturally found herself teaching English as a second language at a nonprofit in Homei, Taiwan for over 10 years, providing original written material, digital voiceover work to accompany charity-produced textbooks, and teaching with a focus on pronunciation. Since then, she has expanded to provide custom corporate workshops for ESL in Taiwan including Deertex, inc. and Golden Bridge Electech and works as private English consultant for professionals and students who aspire to live abroad outside of lecturing at CTUST. She keeps her interest in theatre and acting alive by uploading weekly videos on her personal youtube page.
