social entrepreneur and political engagment strategiist in New York

Andre Lewis has over 15 years experience in youth and small business in management roles, civic engagement, marketing and youth program development. He was a founding member of the one of the first funded run-away and homeless youth drop-in centers in Brooklyn, New York. Appointed Executive Director of the Emmanuel Community Development Corporation and its “Model Teens That Mean Business” youth entrepreneurship program and served most recently as a community delegate/ advisor for Participatory budgeting within the 35th District, New York City Council. His previous experience in the political campaigning and civic engagement in underserved and hard to reach communities as Brooklyn Canvass Manager for the Bloomberg Campaign has provided him with valuable networks and knowledge bases that led his quest to engage untapped youth in becoming civic minded, placing their issues on the frontline of the 2020 Democratic experience.

He is the driving force behind #Untapped 2020 and is passionate about providing homeless or at-risk of homelessness youth, with the best opportunities to become good community citizens and to live full and healthy lives. He believes that our youth are our future and projects to support youth are best delivered by a “whole of community” collaborative approach.
