Hire me

Howdy, I'm Andrés Humberto Riaño Maldonado — economist-in-training, socio-environmental leader, chronicler, and federated table tennis athlete based in Boyacá, Colombia.

I'm completing my undergraduate degree in Economics at the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), with complementary training in Service Experience Design, UX Design, Customer Centricity, Sustainability Management, and Data Science (Universidad de los Andes). My technical toolkit includes Python, SQL, Power BI, and advanced data analytics.

Academic Leadership
As an active member of UPTC's Student Council of Economics, I've led debates on higher education reform and the alignment of public universities with the regional needs of Boyacá — combining quantitative expertise with a deep commitment to democratic participation. I also coordinated five consecutive editions of UPTC's Economics Week: 500+ students and 11 faculty members per edition (2020–2024).

Congressional Testimony — November 12, 2023
I formally addressed Colombia's First Constitutional Permanent Committee of the House of Representatives during an official Public Hearing in Tunja — documented in Official Record No. 12 (Acta No. 12) and registered in the Official Congressional Gazette. My testimony defended education as a longitudinal right and demanded that national reforms incorporate the socioeconomic realities of peripheral territories in a binding and meaningful way.

Socio-Environmental Leadership & Writing
Recognized by the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD) through its Intersystemic Regional Observatory (OIR) as a key actor in community ecological defense in Boyacá:

  • Author of "El páramo que aprendimos a defender: historia de una lucha ambiental en Toca, Boyacá" — a chronicle documenting civil resistance against open-pit coal mining since 2014.

  • Active in socio-environmental forums, wildfire mitigation brigades, and conservation planting of the endemic frailejo (Espeletia tibamoensis).

Federated Table Tennis Athlete

  • Registered with the Liga de Tenis de Mesa de Bogotá under the Federación Colombiana de Tenis de Mesa (FCTM) since August 2025.
  • University representative for UPTC in ASCUN Deportes tournaments (Eastern Node).
